Step into this colourful interior trend of 2024 ... Kitschen!
Retro Pink or Green?
How can you implement this interior trend in your kitchen yourself? Quite simply. Go for colour!
There are no rules, although the colours below can get you into the right moods anyway. Think retro pink, bright green, a vibrant yellow or a striking orange.

Not yet sold on these vibrant colours? Levis Atelier also has a special palette of seventies colours, which will certainly look great in your kitchen too. You can check them out in the blog post to the right 👉
Complementary colours in your kitchen
So how do you know if your colour combination will actually match? Any bold colour combination is daring, but if you go for complementary colours like a combination with blue and orange or green combined with pink, you will have an advantage over every other colour idea, because opposite colours reinforce each other.
The eclectic mix and match
Mix and match. Not only the use of colours is important, but also the accessories or furniture you display. For example, it is very common to highlight second-hand finds from flea markets and thrift shops in this kitshy kitchen style. The nice thing about this style is that basically anything is allowed, as long as it stands out and catches the eye.
If we do have to list some rules, follow these items below:
❌ Buying everything for your kitchen in one furniture set from the same manufacturer/store
❌ Only use the same material e.g. everything in oak
✅ This style should look like a hotchpotch of different shops and preferably with a few things you have brought from somewhere far away or found on a (flea) market.
Colourful tiles on the wall
We get that over-the-top kitsch is not for everyone, but we do believe that many want to add colour to their kitchen. If you want this trend to look a little more balanced, use just 1 colour accent.
For example, go for tiles on the wall in one vibrant colour. Oh yes, tiles are easy to paint yourself, by the way.
So you already have tiles, but are not happy with the colour? Don't throw them away, give them a new look with our tile paint.
An eye-catching fridge
Also typical of this 2024 interior trend are bright refrigerators. You can create this yourself too, without buying a new fridge. For example, you can prime your fridge with Sigma multiprimer, as it adheres to very smooth surfaces. Finish with a water-based lacquer such as Tigron aqua satin.
