What colours is it available in?

There is also colourless stain, but note that colourless offers less protection as it does not contain any pigment that can provide additional UV protection. If you want optimally protected wood, match the stain with the wood tone for a harmonious look and better protection.

Opaque or transparent?

The choice between opaque and transparent depends on your needs and the condition of your wood. An opaque stain gives an even colour and often offers extra protection against UV radiation, while a transparent stain emphasises the natural wood structure and grain.

Which is better for outdoors, lacquer or stain?

For outdoors, stain is usually the better choice. Whereas wood lacquer forms a film on the surface, stain penetrates the wood and allows it to breathe. This prevents moisture from being trapped, which can lead to damage.

Which exterior stain lasts the longest?

The durability of exterior stain varies depending on the product and the conditions in which it is used.
