Sikkens Cetol TFF - Varnish for parquet and wooden floors
Description
You can protect parquet flooring from scratches and wear with a varnish. If you want a satin finish, it is best to choose a varnish with anti-slip properties to prevent slipping. And that is exactly what Sikkens Cetol TFF can offer you. The ideal anti-slip varnish for your parquet floor, but also perfect for cork floors.
Spilled something on your varnished parquet or cork floor? No problem, you can clean the floor with any standard household cleaning products.
Please note: when you open the packaging, the varnish will look white/milky. Give it a quick stir. After applying your coats and allowing them to dry, the varnish will be completely transparent and colourless.
This Cetol varnish for indoor use is colourless and we cannot tint it for you. If you want to preserve the wood structure of your floor but change its colour, we recommend first applying a stain and then coating it with this varnish.

Frequently asked questions
How do you apply Sikkens Cetol TFF?
For the first coat on bare wood, you should dilute this varnish with 5 to 10% water. For the two subsequent coats, you can apply the varnish undiluted. It is best to apply the product with a chinex brush such as our 7750 Exclusive. For large surfaces, you can use a mohair roller such as Paint Roller Velours.
Do you need to use a primer first?
No. However, we do recommend sanding the surface first. If there are old layers of varnish on your surface, check out this blog on how to remove varnish.
What is the drying time of Sikkens Cetol TFF?
At an ideal indoor temperature, the varnish should theoretically be dry after 4 hours. Of course, we recommend that you always check your surface to ensure that it is completely dry. Only then can you sand the layer and apply a new one.
Please note: after approximately 4 hours, it will be dry but not walkable! Wait a day before walking on a varnished surface. Do you want to varnish a staircase but still need to be able to use it? Then choose to skip one step at a time.
