Sikkens Cetol Novatech - 2-in-1 Exterior Wood stain

Description

Looking to protect your exterior wood while preserving its natural look? Sikkens Cetol Novatech is part of the Sikkens Cetol collection and offers both priming and finishing in one product for projects such as garden sheds and cladding. It shields your wood from rain and sun, keeping it strong and healthy for years.

Cetol Novatech can also be applied to exterior wooden windows and doors, but in that case we recommend this stain only as a primer. As a finishing coat it is better to choose Sikkens Cetol Filter 7.

After 3 to 4 years, simply clean the surface and reapply. There's no sanding required, as long as you maintain it in time. Easy maintenance with lasting results!

How to stain with Sikkens Cetol Novatech?

For cladding and garden sheds, you can follow this brief step-by-step plan. If you want to stain dimensionally stable wood with Sikkens Cetol Novatech, this stain serves only as a primer and is best finished with 2 coats of Sikkens Filter 7 Plus.

1. Prepare

Start by removing dust, moss, or loose wood fibers using a stiff brush. Sand lightly in the direction of the wood grain for an even surface. Clean with a cloth and White Spirit, then allow the surface to dry completely. Use masking tape and protective foil to shield the surrounding area.

2. Apply

Stir the stain thoroughly before use. Use a flat, long-haired brush (like the ProGold Classic 7530) to apply an even coat. Let the first coat dry for about 24 hours. No separate primer is needed, because this Cetol Novatech acts as both base and topcoat.

3. Recoat

Apply a second coat after the first has dried. This two-layer system ensures strong protection against rain and sun. No sanding required between coats unless the surface has been exposed for a long period.

Which Cetol Novatech colours available?

The easiest way is to choose from the 8 pre-made colours. There are eight of them as you can see. So you have these popular wood shades:

Another possibility is to choose from the Sikkens 5051 colour fan, which you can purchase or rent from us. Find a colour you would like in a transparent finish? Then type in your colour code. Note: Type a T after this colour code, only then we could mix it for you in a transparent stain like the Sikkens Cetol Novatech.
