These are the trend colours for 2022!
2022 may be the year of change, with the post-corona era dawning. This also includes refreshing, inspiring new trend colours, which you can use to carry through that atmosphere of change into your interiors. We would like to tell you which are the trend colours for 2022!
TIP: at the end of this blog article, you can download a handy overview of all the trend colours for 2022!
New colours for a fresh start
The colour experts at paint manufacturers PPG (Sigma, Histor,...) and Akzonobel (Sikkens, Levis, Trimetal,...) agree: 2022 will be a new start. They both chose a trend colour and corresponding colour palettes that exude that new beginning, and reflect the better prospects in the post corona era.
As in 2021, we still see some natural tones recurring in the trend colour palettes. These represent the stability and calm that we can gradually find again. Green, blue and sand shades still play a major role in this. In addition, the trend colour palettes also include a number of bright and cheerful colours that reflect the renewed optimism in the world. Yellow, coral and pink will help brighten up interiors in 2022.
Sigma Coatings trend colours for 2022
For the year 2022, the title of "the trend colour" at Sigma is reserved for Olive Sprig (PPG1125-4), a soft, olive green shade with greyish undertones. Olive Sprig plays the lead role in PPG's 2022 colour theme, Horizon, which brings together three trend colour palettes: Invaluable, Introspective and Inspired. "Horizon" stands for the new horizon we face in 2022.

Invaluable
Besides Olive Sprig, the Invaluable palette contains predominantly slightly darker, rich, warm shades. This palette is all about a nostalgic feel, a combination of natural and historical influences, exuding comfort and reassurance. It may be a slightly bolder palette, but you can still go in many directions. These trend colours lend themselves enormously well to creating depth and warmth in the room.

Inspired
Inspired is a very cheerful, playful colour palette. It contains bright and brighter colours, which can give your mood a huge boost. This palette is perhaps a bit more daring, but still endlessly - and especially creatively - combinable. If you choose this colour palette for your interior, you will go for an optimistic, playful, striking but above all original look!

Introspective
For those who like things a little quieter, Introspective is the perfect trend colour palette. It contains softer, muted shades, mainly pastels and neutrals, with some bright accents in between to give it just that little bit extra. We are told that these colours combine very well with wood. A little Japandi then!

Of course you can! Both with the colour name and the colour code, we can make the right trend colour for you, in Sigma or other paint.

Levis trend colours for 2022
Even at Akzonobel, the paint manufacturer of Sikkens, Trimetal and Levis, among others, we see new prospects ahead, not on the horizon, but rather as clearings in the sky. Indeed, they christened their trend colour for 2022 Bright Skies.
Bright Skies is the main colour in the four trend colour palettes under Ambiance Trend Collection 2022 (Levis): Workshop, Greenhouse, Studio and Salon.

Workshop colours
The Workshop colour palette contains mostly vibrant colours. So in addition to the calming effect you get with Bright Skies, you can create a certain energetic vibe with it at the same time.

Greenhouse colours
With the Greenhouse colours, we return to tranquillity again, with a palette that includes natural colours like blue, blue-green and beige-brown. A very earthy, stable, and above all calming palette.

Studio colours
The Studio colour palette contains a lot of pink-purple tones and a warm coral shade as an accent colour. It is a slightly more creative palette, which is perfect for colour blocking, for example. Bright Skies then balances things out.

Salon colours
The last palette, the Salon colours, may be labelled "trend colours", but they are all timeless, classic colours. They also create a calm, harmonious interior, with light at the centre. Fun fact: Brave Ground, the 2021 trend colour, has become a supporting colour for Bright Skies in this palette (and is therefore still completely "on trend").

Then you can! Other trend colours in paint for 2022
Mathys
Mathys' trend colour book for 2022 is titled: "Guided by nature". So again, it clearly follows the nature colour trend. The collection contains mainly blue-green shades, but also two light, supporting colours. In total, there are six trend colours, which can be nicely matched with each other for a cheerful, yet soothing interior.

Boss Paints
At Boss Paints, the colour of the year 2022 is all about renewal: Re-used Cardboard. The accompanying colour palettes are also completely recycled, as they are already existing colours, but in new combinations with the new trend colour.

Behr
US paint manufacturer Behr is blowing a wind of renewal through your interiors in 2022 with their trend colour Breezeway and the 19 other trend colours in the palette.
Behr's trend colour palette is similar to Sigma and Levis palettes: it contains a lot of blue-green colours, sand and brown tones, but also some cheerful accent colours as well as darker colours to combine with. .
Valspar
At Valspar, there are no less than 12 trend colours for 2022, from blues and greens, to yellows and pinks, with another range of supporting beige, brown and grey tones. They describe the palette at Valspar as natural, calm colours, which are timeless and will fit very well into your interiors for many years to come.

Caparol: Flamenco 110
At Caparol this year, they choose a pink-mauve headliner, christened Flamenco 110. They themselves label the colour as "cheerful and brash". According to Caparol, this colour can be used in many different combinations, evoking a different atmosphere each time - depending on the combined colour. This is because the shade has both warm and cold colour nuances, positioned somewhere between red and violet.

What is also nice, and immediately brings us back to the nature trend, is that, in addition, they have another symbol for the year 2022: the crane. Like the trend colour, it symbolises seemingly contrasting elements, which are balanced with each other.
Paintfactory: Jasmine white
We return to nature again with Paintfactory's trend colour for this year, Jasmine white. This colour is also meant to exude optimism and tranquillity. The white shade with a lilac undertone is soft, fresh, quite neutral and thus multi-purpose.

Surprising combinations can be made with these three supporting trend colours, according to this paint manufacturer: Sienna Red, Caramel Beige and Sunburst Red, all earthy natural shades.
Our favourite: RAL 9010
OK, it's not really a trend colour, but our favourite for 2022 (and maybe forever) is still RAL 9010! This versatile shade of white is very popular, and rightly so. You can combine it with so many colours, because it is a neutral, and at the same time light and warm. Perfect to combine with Olive Sprig and Bright Skies too, by the way!
Three more RAL colours that we think totally fit the trends for 2022 can be found on our overview of all trend colours*, which you can download via the button below, as promised!
*excluding the trend colours of Mathys, Caparol and Paintfactory
